Job Description:
As the Port Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Anglesey Freeport. Working as part of our port management team, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the port, supporting our ferry operations and contributing to our overall success.
Key Responsibilities:

Port Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of port operations, including vessel berthing, cargo handling, and passenger services.
- Coordinate vessel arrivals and departures, ensuring efficient use of berths and resources.
- Monitor port activities and make operational decisions to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all port operations comply with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of port facilities and equipment.
- Implement measures to mitigate safety hazards and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.

Customer Service:
- Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained for both passengers and cargo customers.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement measures to enhance customer satisfaction.

Staff Management:
- Manage and supervise port operations staff, including port agents, terminal operators, and support staff.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to ensure that staff perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct performance reviews and address any performance issues or training needs.

Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the port operations budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in maritime management, logistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in port operations management, preferably within the maritime or transportation industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, permanent position based at Anglesey Freeport, North Wales.
- The successful candidate may be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to accommodate operational requirements.
