Job Description:
As a Shoreline Customs Official, you will be responsible for overseeing customs and immigration procedures for passengers and cargo arriving and departing from Anglesey Freeport. Working as part of our customs team, you will ensure compliance with customs regulations and facilitate the smooth movement of goods and passengers through the port.
Key Responsibilities:

Customs and Immigration Clearance:
- Conduct customs and immigration inspections for passengers and cargo arriving and departing from Anglesey Freeport.
- Verify documentation, including customs declarations, import/export permits, and passenger travel documents.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and report any discrepancies or violations.

Cargo Inspection:
- Inspect cargo shipments to ensure compliance with customs regulations and security requirements.
- Conduct physical inspections of cargo as necessary and document inspection findings.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and agencies to resolve any issues related to cargo clearance.

Passenger Clearance:
- Process passenger arrivals and departures, including passport control and visa verification.
- Provide assistance and guidance to passengers regarding customs and immigration procedures.
- Liaise with immigration authorities and other agencies to facilitate passenger clearance.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of customs and immigration inspections, including documentation and inspection reports.
- Prepare customs clearance documents and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Generate reports and provide statistical data on customs and immigration activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in customs, immigration, or border control would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with import/export documentation and customs clearance processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, permanent position based at Anglesey Freeport, North Wales.
- The successful candidate may be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to accommodate operational requirements.
